Happy New Year Everyone! I hope all had a good holiday with loved ones! We spent as much time as we could with our family and friends but luckily I have a lot of family here with me every day and we stayed really busy throughout the holiday season. Perhaps our busiest department was our onsite rug repair. Our clients were calling to get rugs cleaned because we can offer such a quick turnaround, they also decided that now was the time to finally take care of those tears and patches that they have been holding off on for years. Take a look at this one. Our customer absolutely loves this rug. I don’t have one of those stories to tell you about how she was wandering the streets of Tibet or Istanbul barefoot, uphill both ways in 500 degree weather and passed out flat on her face from heat exhaustion on this rug and she has held onto it ever since because she has no idea where she got the rug, she can’t remember but all she knows is that she wants to keep it for as long as she can.

This rug is the continuous tail of dog loved rug, dog got mad at rug, and dog chewed rug, what do I do? With this particular rug trying to patch the area would have been very difficult because of the design and the backing of the rug. So what the weaver suggested was to simply cut the sides and bind the rug to give a flawless look to the repair. I say simply but she actually had to build the binding herself as you can see from the picture.
